X Box 360 live
I'm posting this as my sons are driving me mad. They have a new Xbox 360 elite and want to go gaming on the internet against, their mates etc... But i have heard that it can cause problems, like viruses etc..........Can anyone tell me the pro's/cons/bewares.

I have used my Xbox 360 live through a shared connection with the pc at first, then plugged into a router, and have experienced no problems whatsoever.
Been about 5 months so far.

I use xbox live and i cant say i've heard of any viruses on or from it.

only cons really is meeting idiots e.g. my tag is blackwrx93 and i actually had some ****wit yanks being extremely racist ,then when i spoke they realised i wasn't black and asked why i had black in my tag if i wasn't black

^^ I HATE racists. And those that choose to scream down the microphone. Do miss Live though. To the OP no problems whatsoever and you'll find yourself drawn in. Microsoft's global scale means it works great!

I have filed complaints against a couple but i dont know if microsoft do much about these.

There are no issues with security and connecting your xbox to Live. Infact to get the best out of it you need to have an open NAT, which means sitting the xbox the otherside of your firewall.

If you use a PC as the gateway then from personal experience I can state that Vista also requires zero configuration to act as an 'open NAT' router. Well, other than turning on connection sharing of course (about 2 clicks).

nope i've been online for a good 2 years and never had a single issue!!!
had a RROD though which is worse IMHO lol

the hacker thing is not as bad as it seams, if somebody is dumb enough to give out the IP they are connecting from then they deserve getting discconected.
as above, you do hear quite a lot of abuse (i personally love it lol), although its not as bad now you have party chat, i was called this the other night on gears of war by a bunch of yanks
"you stupid little unrankable bitch, do you think if you stay till the end of the match and fight 1 v 5 you will rank up? you dumb brit mother****er we raped your mom"
personally i found it quite amusing
especially when i managed to kill a few of them when the odds were against me

The yanks are **** with words arent they. I love it when they start mouthing off, they get so annoyed it hurts them more when you just laugh back.

,it was when it first come out here i too was unrankable i sent a few back which i felt was worth the subscription costs alone for the 2 years ive been on live .ps i did get kicked out of that game because i finished off someones kill
