Default Vista laptop wont connect to wireless hotspot

Holed up in a Radisson hotel at the moment and trying to get onto WiFi.
Couple of the other guys laptops connect ok but my vista one won't redirect to the Radisson access point login page - it just times out the current URL.

Any ideas what causes it to behave like that. Normally it should redirect to the login page the 1st time you try and connect to the hoptspot.

Thanks

Mark

Is the Wi-fi router on a secure or un-secure connection protocol? Find that by default windows networking will default to a secure connection protocol, and some hotel networks broadcast on un-secure connections. Worth checking your network settings for this.

You also may have set your own wireless to be the preferred network. Also you need check your laptop is using DHCP and not static IP Addresses.

Thanks for replies
Messed around with security settings and it just started working

Interstingly iPhones would just timerout the page rather than redirect to the wireless access point login - the behaviour on iPhone just changed after 2 days to redirect as expected

Anyhow all is working ok now

Cheers

Mark
