controller thats not gonna cost a fortune. They seem to be the one pipece of kit that never seems to drop in price

Cheaper alternative is a network bridge,

But prolly not by much


unless you can find one in a SH shop nw bridge or xbox dongle

A network access point is substancially cheaper and can be used for something other than the XBOX.
I have one of these conencted to my son's xbox.
NETGEAR WG602 54 Mbps Wireless Access Point

From memory I paid approx £35 for it.

the official one is only £10 more than that any there is no messing with settings. It just works from the box from the xbox menus. Best money you will spend is on the official unit.

shopto.net have the official one for £39 IIRC.

Does it need to be wireless? A pair of the powerline adaptors (85mb ones) can be had for £30 and work much better than wireless.
