PC rebooting the moment it enters windows

Did a fresh install of Win2k for mate, worked perfectly in my office, then took it to his house and gets only as far as the windows 2000 black and white screen showing the progress bar. Gets right to the end of this then reboots his computer.

He's got a different monitor obviously, but apart from that its the same setup.

Any ideas ?

Even tried safe mode, but again it gets to the end of the progress bar and reboots.

Checked BIOS settings - even set to defaults and it still does it.

Reseat the video card, sounds like it may be when it first goes into a proper graphics mode. Useless if it has onboard graphics of course

Not onboard graphics - its a Canopus Spectra 2500 TNT card.

Will give it a try.

Just reinstalled WIn2k and everything is fine again.
