hi my gf has downloaded loads of tv series on her laptop and now its full.
its a 120gb hard drive.so i helped her delete the stuff she has watched but its still taking up alot of space and i dont know how.

clicking on my computer there is drive c which is 101gb total with 12.5gb free.
clicking on drive d which is her recovery it says 9.31 total with 1.07gb free.

opening drive c to see whats in it and counting the file size iam only getting 50gb approx of files so whys it saying 88.5gb is full on that drive?
101-12.5=88.5
any ideas on this?
i defragged this drive about 6 month ago.
ive cleaned the registry dleted temp internet files etc

 

Have you emptied the recycle bin?

delete your temp folder as well



Download CC cleaner, that will help you..

BTW the recovery drive isnt a separate drive, its a partition of the C: drive,

so reduces your 120G accordingly..

IE 30G recovery drive leaves an 80G C: drive

right click on the hdd and goto properties. then do a disk cleanup. also goto control panel / system / system restore and tick turn off system restore.

or get your gf a usb external hdd. or you romance her more so she dont watch tv series that much!

 

yep pretty much tried everything suggested have already usd the easy cleaner.

 

I checked my vista drive, 1tb drive and 180gb of shadow copy ****. Turned off system restore and I have space again! YEY
