Hi
Bought a new Compaq Presario with ME pre-installed a couple of days ago.Since then this has happened 4 times,
Your using the pc as normal and suddenly the little mouse arrow on the screen freezes up and wont move. You can still highlight things by moving the mouse(ie in the background the sensor,or whatever you call it can still be moved by moving the mouse and enter progs by hitting enter) but all the time the arrow on the screen is 'stuck'.
You have to restart the pc to 'unstick' the arrow.I could buy a new mouse.....any ideas.
Thanks in advance
Paul.

Have a quick check to make sure the cable is in properly. If that doesn't solve it, you could try looking at the Compaq technical support site http://www.compaq.com/support
Assuming you bought it new it will have a warranty which Compaq will honour to fix it - I got a Presario about a year ago from PC World and they sent an engineer out to fix my CD Rewriter when it died - six days before the end of the warranty

Thanks, the cable seems to be in ok.I may buy a new mouse today just to see if it makes any difference.
Just wondered if anyone else has ever had this problem.
