Default Newbie to Wii Question

Me and the missus have got one for Christmas as a present to each other

Banned ourselves from playing it until Christmas day. Anyway my question, does it have any inbuilt memory for game saves, Miis, etc. or is an SD card a must have? Don't want my gaming on Christmas day compromised by a lack of memory

All your Miis etc are stored on the internal memory. No need for an SD card for that stuff...

make sure you buy an extra nunchuck set as it only comes with 1 (you probably have anyway)

what he said ^^^

Also make sure you have two controllers, they are fully charged and you have a charging station. You can buy these anywhere. The point being if you allow the controller to run out of juice, they can be very tricky to get up and running again.

Apart from that, make sure you have covered all valuables, the cat etc in bubble wrap and you two are wearing protective clothing

Was going to mention this also. The standrad Wii bundle only comes with 1 x remote and 1 x Nunchuck, so to play some of the 2 player + wii sports games against each other you need at least 2 sets of controllers.

As for the SD card slot, I made the mistake of buying a wii compatibile SD card and under the same impression you have and it hasn't been used. I beleive it's used for the photo channel etc..

Thanks for the heads up on the memory card. I have got one I could borrow from my PDA but if I don't need to the it's all good.

Yep fairly sorted for controllers etc., got the Wii, Wii Play (extra controller), Mario and Sonic Olympics, extra nunchuck, charging stand, RGB Scart lead for me telly, and Big Brain Academy as an extra surprise for the missus.

Will bubble wrap everything

Should keep us going for now
