Samsung NC10 - Anyone got one
As subject really. Considering Samsung NC10 for slouching on sofa and having a surf. Not going to use it for anything more than that really.
My old Sony laptop is approaching end of life, battery hardly holding enough charge to be mains free for more than 15 mins and screen on way out.
Samsung looks good, but after any personal experiences please.
Cheers

Haven't bought it yet but I've been using one quite a bit.
I think as far as netbooks go it's between the Acer (for price) and half decent spec and the NC10 for keyboard and battery life.
If you need XP I'd get the NC10 without thinking. The keyboard is a little better than the Acer and you get stonking great battery life out of them, 6 hours with ease.
If you don't need XP then you're talking £100+ more for that slightly better keyboard (slightly bigger screen) and few hours of battery.
Weight isn't an issue they both weigh about the same as a bog roll.

Yes, using it at the moment Quite a nice little machine, seems quick enough for most things and keyboard is comfortable to use. Only gripe would be the rocker switch for the mouse buttons, but otherwise very happy with my purchase.

Thanks Guys, just the kind of response I was looking for. I'll have a play first before purchase of course, but sounds like what I am after.

Would highly recommend it.
Excellent size and battery life.
Got my full iTunes library on there, runs slingbox desktop viewer no probs.
MS office runs ok.
1024x600 screen is really good - especially seeing as I was coming from Eee PC 701 where lots of scrolling was required during web browsing.
Only complaint is finger prints on the shiney black case and it's very slightly back heavy from the battery - just tips back slightly when on lap but no big problem.
Bought the LG USB powered CD/DVD RW to go with it so fully sorted for getting software on to it.
Speakers are pretty poor and quiet to be fair so normally use headphones with mine.
Slip case it comes with doesn't offer much protection.
Overall I highly recommend it.
Got mine for £299 from carphone warehouse - they stock them for sale with O2/3 mobile broadand packages but will sell them outright.

Well, I got one. Had £300 in PC World vouchers from work (bonus thingy), so cost me £22 in all from Currys.
Typing this from it
Got it all hooked up at home to wireless LAN, wireless printer and even syncing my phone via Bluetooth. Love it, what a perfect bit of kit for this kind of thing. Surf all evening, sync my iPod, and can even get photos off my camera via the SD card slot. Love it.
My Sony VAIO laptop is being wiped as I speak ready to be put in the skip
Thanks again guys.
Cheers

got one for just that, surfing and a few apps while sat watching TV.
I can get about 5 hours from the battery on full brightness and 7 on one up from min.
The web cam and mic arent the best in the world but they are more than adequate for Skype or similair.
My only gripe is the touchpad isnt big enough for my chubby fingers!
