Anyone after a NAS (network attached storage) ?
Someone say recently they were after a NAS box ?
This seems a bargain with a 400GB hard drive included:
DLINK DNS-323 Network Storage 400GB & print server on eBay, also, Other Networking, Networking, Computing (end time 06-Dec-08 16:31:26 GMT)

same image as the official DLINK website looking at this, just reversed ?

Make sure you find out what the xfer rate is on these before you spend your ££. I bought a My Book World Edition naively thinking that because it had a 1gb lan port it would transfer at that speed.
30mins for 5gb = taking the ****
Luckily I only use it for over night backups, so I dont really notice...

I just bought a D-Link 323 on eBay (half price), drove 30 miles to pick it up and everything works great. You can hack it to install Twonky while you are waiting for 1.06 firmware to be released.
Thanks for your help,

I've been using an Intrant, now Netgear, ReadyNas+ for a couple of years now. Got 4 400 gig drives in it that the moment, and one drive did go down. The hot swapping worked a treat.
Recommended - they're not the cheapest on the block but worth it imho.

Best NAS i've used so far are the QNAPs
QNAP Systems, Inc.- NAS storage and Surveillance products provider
I won't go near Netgear for NAS boxes - I had one of their early ones and it gave me no end of problems.
