delay when click on folder in Windows?
Something has been bugging me for ages with my copy of Windows XP
Whenever I click on a folder, I experience a delay of up to 5 seconds before its contents can be viewed. Having just installed a new 640GB Raid array, the problem seemed to be at its worst.
ANYWAY, after a bit of research, it appears its down to the shell extensions some 3rd party software install in Windows.
Resolution: A quick way to fix this and get windows flying again is:
Start > Control Panel > System > Advanced > Performance Settings > untick box called "use common tasks in folders"

I have a ton of software and somewhere the shell extensions for 3rd party software have something to do with it - I've heard the Nero one is particularly wobbly.
