thinking of getting a PS3 but want to be able to play PS2 games on it also..... is this possible someone told me I'd need the 60G version is that right ??

I think thats true i bought a 60gb version and it plays the ps2 games no problem.

Places like gamestation still sell them - there recons though - you will find it hard to get a brand new one also note you will have to pay a damn sight more to get hold of one

 

Much cheaper to just use a PS2 alongside the PS3. Only the launch 60gb PS3 machines had the backwards compatibility, so chances are you'll only be able to find an expensive 2nd hand model now...

 

dude............. im a total ps3 convert i got a 32 inch hd tv , hdmi lead ,trust me you will be so wrapped up in your new games and the quality of m you wont give ur ps2 stuff a second though , bests the 360 hands down in my himble opinion .
