Ipod touch convert DVD to Ipod?
Anyone recommend a good converter to put a dvd or 2 onto my Ipod touch?
There zillions if you look on Google and I don't mind paying for a good one but I've no idea which ones are good and which ones are slow and useless.
I'm using a Vista PC.

Another vote for Handbrake.
Has preset tabs for converting to iPhone/iPod Touch, very simple to use or there are some advanced setting if that floats your boat.
I use it for my iPhone and the kids nano's, works well and is free!

tried handbrake and managed to get 2:58, but the picture quality is worse than the adverts on tv that warn against video piracy!
thinking about it, it might be easier if i were to buy a pirate copy and leave the originals nice and safe at home!

I downloaded DVD Shrink and then I used Handbrake to convert it to play on the ipod. I can play back the converted movie through my PC but it won't go onto my Ipod - even though I have it in itunes. Does any one have any suggestions as to why this might be? It's definateley selected to be copied onto my ipod, it just won't transfer.

Don't want to hijack but does anyone use a particular dvd ripping program that will do copy protected dvd's?
As mentioned above I use DVD Shrink to backup dvd and then handbrake to convert but dvd shrink doesn't seem to like copy protected dvds

Tools I have been using for my iPhone video needs:
DVDFab 5 for extracting DVDs
DVD Copy Software from DVDFab | Copy DVD to PSP, DVDR or iPod
Xvid4PSP
http://www.winnydows.com/
xvid4psp is great and will convert downloaded video quickly and cleanly in an iPhone friendly format (along with many others) and its totally free. My biggest complaint is the lack of batch conversion - I would like to be able to take ~10 files and convert them all in order.
