Another Mac HD question.....
Can you add an additional partition to an already partitioned (and active) HD?
Got about 100 Gig that I need to turn into another partition, but in a different format
Can it be done?

Possibly Depends on the OS being run. Disk Utility in 10.5 will allow you to split a current active partition without losing data. I've done this on my laptop. I had a 40GB spare partition and I split it into two, preserving the data on the original partition. However, I'm not totally sure if this will allow you to change the format of the partition from Mac OS to MS-DOS
For 10.4, Disk Utility won't allow you to do it, but I believe the command line version does support resizing of volumes, certainly 10.4.11 should as that is how the Boot Camp Assistant works, as it creates a new partition on your existing disk.
I'm guessing here you're wanting to partition the internal drive to allow you to use Boot Camp. If you're on 10.5, then fine, if 10.4, then you'll need to change the date and time, as the assistant will have expired and won't let you use it's partitioning features, or, you could have a read here on what commands to issue. Make sure you're backed up before doing it in case things go **** up.

Almost
What I'm trying to do is repartition my ext FW drive to install Vista.
I've connected the drive to my MacPro (with 10.5) so it may not be an issue (I've not put 10.5 on my MBP yet)
I had a look at the command line version, and it didn't look too bad!
Backing up now (2 hours to go!! )
Will let you know how I get on
