New computer.......how do I.......

You have several methods:
USB Stick is the easiest, although it'll probably take several swaps
If they are both running, you can do a network transfer (as in \\computer_name and copy the files). This is slow.
You can take the hard drive from the old machine and just plug it in to the new one either via a USB external housing or just by cable if your new computer has a spare one (it probably does)

Most convenient way would be to network them together. If you have a router just make sure they're both connected to it and you will need to give the new machine permission to access the files on the old one. Probably easiest just to share your C: drive (and any other partitions) to allow it access.
Then you should be able to see the old machine in Network Neighbourhood (or whatever they're calling it under Vista) and access the drives to copy the data off.
If they're not attached to a router you can easily just network the two machine together using a cross over cable or a hub.

If you are sure of the files then use either a USB key or external hard drive as mentioned or get one of these cables if it is a sata drive in the old PC -- will turn it into an instance USB drive
