How to format a hard drive.
I've got a new computer, and have bought a drive enclosure for my old hard drive, so I can use it as an external HD. It's 80GB
Once I've got the files I want off the old drive, should I format it? If so, how do I go about it?
Would I need do anything else? The old drive had XP installed, the new computer runs Vista, if that makes a difference?
TIA, Alcazar

No need to format, you could just delete the files. Prob cleaner formatting tho.
Boot up
Plug it in
Right click my computer, manage, disk management, format.

Just make sure you have the right drive to format ....
and if you are going to do this - then you have answered your own question in transferring files on the other thread
