most days now, it slowley over about 5/10 seconds, get light, to dark. sometimes so you can not see anything at all.

what would be causing this

its just a normal t.v style monter

Silly easy answer but have you checked the connection in the back, both in the monitor and the pc?

They can sometimes come loose.

wtf is a monter? Sounds like one of the controller cards/chips might be duff, you can possibly replace it.

While it's not as bad as yours, my second monitor does this from time to time. It's an LG and only does it when it's just sat on the desktop. Never bothered to find out what the problem is though it doesn't annoy me too much, might try and find out
