I've heard good reports about GoToMyPC, but think you have to pay a subscription. It must be popular as the site is blacklisted at work

We are considering gotomypc for accessing our work network from home.

Haven't looked at any others so anyone with experience of gotomypc got any problems with it?

Yea my company use it, no problems with it at all, does what it says on the tin, but logmein is free imo is faster n offers more features, whereas gotomypc isn't free and has to bought under license.

Depends, means more ports open on the firewall though, unless you use VPN's

For accessing internal PC's we use Dameware and external PC's we use Beam2support.com

Beam2support needs no software to be installed, it runs an .exe file straight of a webserver that's why we picked it. It also can record your remote support session.

yes we use Logmein for a few machines ( have done for years, I think we have a 20 user license) and whilst it is good, it does prove a pain sometimes on macs with the javascript implementation

Logmein is bloody brilliant and has a small footprint, works on both macs and PC's unlike gotomypc.

Teamviewer
Netviewer etc

My Uni we are piloting LANDeask for remote control, this includes a gateway server which allows us to connect to users home machines. They run an exe thier end which connect's to the gateway server at our end.

Teamviewer is really good, used pretty much everything out there and this works really well, espesially as I can get an engineer to load it on his pc on a site and I can get in and assist without messing about... Works through every customer firewall I've tried also, well apart from MI5, another story but I got my wrists slapped of for trying it on site to get to another pc... DOH!
