What glide2.dll does, or where it comes from? My neighbours kid got the Unreal pack, with Unreal, UT and Unreal - return to NaPali. Unreal runs OK, but Return to NaPali gives missing glide2.dll. It won't run in full screen and it incredibly jerky

I think the Glide drivers are solely for 3dfx related cards. Easiest thing to do is have a scour on the web for glide2.dll and download it and stick in your windows/system folder. It's a driver needed for the API to access the 3D accelerated guff.
Should be OK then (I think)
Edit : You can get just the glide2 stuff from here http://www.simracing.dk/gpl/resourcer/tools.htm although it's in Finnish or something
Just do a find on the page for Glide2 and you will be able to download it from there

Failing that, if he ain't got a 3dfx card and it won't let you select anything else, you can always get one of the 3dfx wrappers from www.3dfx.com

cheers Hanslow - It aint my PC, so I don't want to mess about too much, (read destroy it completely) but I suppose you couldn't do too much damage with 1 dll. (Famous last words)

Glide was an API (language if you like) that was written to show off the 3D cards made by a defunct company called 3Dfx.
Matrox cards do not requre the glide.dll, as Fosters said - just go into the menus and select directX or OpenGL instead.
Make sure your Matrox drivers are up to date, by visiting their website and downloading the latest drivers.
He's not a programmer is he ? He might want a glide wrapper, which is another story altogether.
