Unhappy MacBook-why will a page load in Safari but not in Firefox ?

I use a macbook with OS10.4.11 and prefer Firefox to Safari as main browser.
I updated to the new FF3 browser and now find that it just won't load some pages that Safari will, almost instantly. I haven't changed any settings that I know off so is there a solution to this ?

Cheers and thanks

Can you give me an example of a page that isn't loading and I'll try it here.

Thanks.
Try this one Boy From Brazil: Bradford City News: The answer to boredom

And no, it's not a 'funny' site but a football page for Bradford City. Named after a Brazilian winger who played for them a few yrs back.

Cheers

Just tried it on 10.5.4 with Firefox 3.0.1 and it opened fine. Just about to try 10.4.11 to see what happens.

What exactly happens, or more specifically, does not happen, when you try and open the page? Does FF give any errors? What exact version of FF are you using, I presume it's 3.0.1 as that is the latest and you say you just installed it.

*edit*
Just tried the link in FF 3.0.1 on 10.4.11 and it opened without any problems at all.

Unhappy

Oh dear, looks like I have an issue then.

Thanks Markus and ScoobyDooo555 for checking that out for me. I have just tried again (9.50 am) and Firefox 3.0.1 eventually opens the 'address not found ' page and now Safari won't connect to it either.

I rather think that it might be a Firefox 3.0.1 issue as I keep getting other problems as well....single click on a google answer page redirects me to shopping/commercial sites, had one in Spanish last night ! FF3 is so slow to open some pages.
I have used Onyx, Macscan and ClamXav, resett permissions etc, all is clean.

Think I might well scrub FF3 altogether and go back to FF2.

Cheers
