Help - strange windows message appearing??

Default Help - strange windows message appearing??

Noticed that a few programmes I have tried to run lately have all come back with the message " Windows canot access the specified device / path or file. you may not have the appropriatte permissions to access the item "

Any ideas ??

I get this in Vista...... Try right clicking on the file and "run as administrator", this sometimes works for me

Okay cheers for the advice mate, using " xp " here and as far as I now the pc only has one account and this is the administrator, there is a box that will allow you too " Protect my computer and data from unathorised programme activity " tried unticking this but still getting the same windows message apperaring.

any other ideas I could try ??

Anyone else any other ideas I could try ?? seem to be getting this message with a good few files / programmes I am trying to run now, all programmmes that are comming up with this particular windows message have just recently been d/loaded, does this point to anything in particular ??

Have you tried opening them in SAFE MODE?

Also, if you have just downloaded them, it could well be your AV program causing the problem. Might be worth uninstalling it, if possible and downloading the problem files again.
