Default Nintendo DS R4 DS Revolution or DSST Memory Card

Anyone know which is the better of the two

Revolution or DSST ?

need a couple of these, and wondering if there is any difference, the R4 one claims they will only work with 2 Gb cards, the DSST claims will now work with upto 8Gb cards

Im guessing though you can get a 100 or so games on one 2Gb card, so memory card isnt really an issue LOL

Cheers

I've used the R4 and the N5, never had problems with either.

In terms of file sizes, some of the big games can be 64MB and over so this will limit what you'll get on 2GB cards.

I've never tried an R4 with anything bigger than a 2Gb card, maybe you could just get 2 2GB cards.

I know *someone* with a DSTT with an 8gig card, no probs at all.

Some ROMs can be 1024 megaBITS (128megaBYTES) but most of them trim down and DSTT handles trimmed ROMs no problem.

I've used both (and a Supercard) and they are all more or less the same. The newer ones support up to 8gb (even the R4 I thought?).

I can recommend these people: GAMING CARDS from MemoryBits - The Flash Memory Shop

sorry to sound dumb, but how do you get the games off the purchased "game module" and onto the SD card when they both plug in to the same socket on the DS??

I bought a "backup device" for my Lite from Aria but haven't got round to using it yet.

Same as the last time that card came up:

"Reports have been received that these carts are suspected to cause a fuse in NDS to blow out, rendering the NDS unbootable until the fuse is fixed"

I've got both the R4 and the TT. and to be honest, the R4 is good (bit flimsy), BUT the TT is my winner.

Why? It seems so much more substantial, you can connect a rumble pack to it.

I can't comment on the capacity as I've only put 2 gig cards in both, but the TT does seem to load everything (inc firmware) a little bit faster...

all imho!

i use cycloDS and my kids use R4 - they've had some games that won't save on theirs, but are fine on mine - speedracer, doctor who trumps, ben10 are a few - but it shows R4 is not the one to buy these days.

I'd 100% recommend the CycloDS above all others as well... absolutely faultless, no need to put 'firmware' on the SDHC card - and they work very well with SDHC cards (I've got 8GB in mine, and I've also got a 4GB that obviously works well).

GBA emulation, cheats, real-time save, rumble support, etc. it's a great piece of kit and the best there is today IMHO.

I do have access to a piece of software that allows you to stream wifi enabled games off the original ROM

It is for a cost thought as it is a mate of mine selling it. and it's compatible with the DS TT only
