Exclamation Nintendo Wii Wireless Internet Problem

Hope someone can help...

My Sky Broadband router is saying there is a wireless signal being given out, yet when I search for an access point with my wii it can't find my SSID, although it had found a neighbours.

Although on the front of the router there is a signal being given out, I can't actually see anthing on my computer that is saying it is producing a wireless broadcast How could I tell if it is ?

Any help would be appreciated !

ps I've been on 192.168.0.1 but don't know what to do !

Have you set the router to 'broadcast SSID'.

how do you connect your pc to the router, cable or wireless?

If wireless then you know the wireless works.

Then check to see if SSID is enabled (this broadcasts your wireless network name so you can see it) - Just look for a section that says SSID in the router config.

How far away from the wii is the router?

Depending on how many devices you router has connected to it, you may not have enough dhcp address set although the wii should still pick up the signal.

Doesn't the Wii only support WEP not WPA? If the netgear is set to WPA then the Wii will never be able to connect

Wii supports WPA. Indeed at my kids house, using WPA was the only way I could get the Wii to connect, it didn't want to know under WEP.

My computer is hard wired up. I have a feeling my router is not broadcasting a wireless signal, but not sure why as "Enable Wireless Access Point" is ticked
