Playstation 2 HDTV converter

Anyone tried this? I'm assuming it's utter cr4p but if it did actually work i'd get it for the kids as i've got loads of PS2 games still. Also GT3/4 would be good to see in HD.

I've got a component cable for my PS2 (which is basically all this is) and to be honest it looks worse on my LCD. It sharpens the picture but shows how blocky the graphics are on the games, even the ones that support higher resolutions. God Of War 2 does, but it looks far better via scart or on a CRT.
