Sata drivers or emulation mode in XP
Which is better
I dont have a slipstreamed XP with the SATA drivers included, nor do I have a floppy drive with drivers on
So when I installed XP on my laptop, I had to switch the BIOS SATA mode off so that XP would recognise the hard drive
Now apparently I can add the SATA driver now XP is installed and switch the SATA mode in the BIOS back on
Is there any difference in speed or is it so negligible that it isnt worth it?

I had to do this on some laptops when just got as they came with vista but with a downgrade license for me to put xp on and would only load xp with SATA mode off. A faster rate talking to the hdd and a slightly longer battery life with it enabled.
I followed this link and turned it back:- My Tech Blog: Enabling SATA Native Mode after XP Install

Mine is a HP too, and I did say in my first post I dont have a floppy drive, or a slipstreamed install cd, so I had to do the way everyone else does
Ill try the sata drivers as the laptop is primarily used for audio recording
