help installing amd athlon 64 x2 4200 driver update?
hi i have the amd athlon(tm)64 x2 dual core 4200+ with installed driver 1.1.0.0 its never been updated.
iam thinking i should update it but not sure how to go about it as iam not sure which of the updates available i should use and i dont know if i need to delete the previous driver before installing them???
ive been on the amd website which lists a number of updates iam not really sure which ones i need?
heres the page Utilities, Drivers, & Updates
or is it this page Support & Downloads
i have windows xp home edition and i have installed the ati radeon x1600 graphics card updates succesfully it told me to uninstall the old driver before downloading the new driver.

Actually need to know what make of mobo you have as it's those drivers you need to update
You CAN uninstall the old video driver - the easist way is to change the video card to the default one is to go:
right click desktop
properties
adapter
properties
uninstall
reboot and install the new driver. You'll be prompted on reboot, just ignore this prompt (cancel it)
