Default VHS (fullsize tape) to DVD

I want to put some old tapes onto DVD but havent a clue what to use, I have a half decent VHS player - can I somehow rig this to my pc and use some sort of software to capture it then burn it onto DVD?

I dont have a camcorder either

Any tips or should I just send it to these people who do it for a living?

Something like this will do the trick nicely.

Scan Computers UK: Pinnacle Studio 10 MovieBox 510-USB

Personally I connect my VHS player to a standalone DVD recorder (scart to scart) then edit/trim the resulting footage on my PC. Standalone DVD recorders can be had for under £50 these days.
