I'm in the same boat, I got one for fathers day, good fun for messing about with the wife and kids but it's no PS3 that's for sure, enjoying the Tennis and Baseball on wii sports.
So what's so good about Mario Kart, just a cartoon racing game ? or is it better than that ?

When I pulled it out of the bag on Sunday I was a bit shocked the wife had bought it for me as a fathers day pressie, but our daughter was going ballistic, "I'm going to tell all of my friends I have a wii" Hold on sweetie it's my Fathers Day present from you it's not even out of the box and you are claiming it as your own ??
I think she's right though, we have bought her Carnival Games and I bought her High School Musical today, with the mic, I will be holding that back until her birthday in a month or so, not looking forward to that, day in day out .
Like I said a great family toy

The wife has been pestering me to get her one of these along with the Wii Fit, seeing as "I" already have 2x 360's and a PS3 I thought I might as well complete the set and had a go with the brother-in-laws last week.
oh dear, not impressed. OK, I was expecting crap graphics but the controller? I thought it was supposed to be great but I found it rather unresponsive - especially during the golf game - for some reason it just didnt want to register that I'd swung the thing - is this normal?

well, I am crap with real golf clubs but thats beside the point! I was doing the exact same motion each time, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't - it was the same when just with the putting trainer.
Tennis also seemed a bit random too, although the bowling didn't see too bad.

Its takes a bit of practice I was exactly the same when we first got our Wii esp when trying short distance strokes on the Golf game You "think" you're doing the same motion but there will be subtle differences each time . Personally I think its the best Games console out of the 3, easily the most fun with family and friends anyway.
