It's not bad but nothing special. Graphically it's ok (I wouldn't call it stunning), but in gameplay terms it's quite short, and the "puzzles" are very easy. I finished it in a weekend.

I was going to get GT5 Prologue but everyone on here has slated it so it seems so will try the demo first and see for myself.
It is essentially a demo

Cut scenes/story lines don't do much for me so if it's all about that then no good to me.
Same here. Several people I have spoken to have said that the (very) lengthy cut-scenes are pretty much essential to the "game", so if you don;t like that sort of thing then you may not like it much.

What extras are good to get? I need another controller, hdmi cable and remote control handset.
I imported a dual schock (rumble enabled) pad. Adds a lot to the GT5 experience...

I've got a DS3 on the way - Play.com do trigger extensions too for £3.49 delivered...

BR's? Cars is excellent in the PQ dept - hardly suprising when its a digital film with a digital transfer on a digital format. Casino Royale is also pretty good, although it was the first film I watch on BR and started out a little disappointing - mainly because the opening scene in black & white has a deliberate grain to it, but once the opening titles started - that was a real eye-opener.

Day After Tomorrow is also supposed to be excellent - I've bought it but not watched it yet. 300 is also good. One of the biggest differences is with sound quality though - BR gives you proper uncompressed CD quality sound and I think the difference is very noticable over DVD - but you'll need a relatively new Amp to accept the Dolby 7.1 over HDMI.

Axel music will do T2, region free delivered from the US £5.98.

GT5P pretty good graphically - and the online stuff changes frequently, although it does install itself to the HDD because it's constantly being modified to add new features - I think it's on its 9th iteration since October last year.

MGS4 is stunning, but probably depends on whether being a sneaky bar steward appeals to you, and the lengthy cutscenes seem to be what some people think that the game is all about - think of it as an interactive movie. If looking for an FPS, then you should be able to get Resistance FOM quite cheap.

Wipeout HD on the horizon, should be epic fun online...

I'm useless at games so it's not a problem if to most it doesn't take long to complete as i'm not bothered about this, it will take me ages to complete. As long as it is visually stunning and I can run about shooting stuff then I will like it.
It's bloody great. And yes, graphically stunning in places. Think Gears of War meets prince of persia.

Prologue is halfway between Demo and Game - There are about 70 cars in it, 5 tracks and the F1 ferrari with a wheel is as good as driviing games get.

You either like MGS or you don't. Its very much a marmite game.

Personally I wouldn't double up unless it was one of the few films that love with a passion. The upscaling is excellent from DVD

Not sure the remote hansdet is worth it - But another controller would be good (DS if you can get) and of course, if you are into your driving games, a DFP.

I am loving MGS4. I have never got on with stealthy games, but with this you don't have to be stealthy at all if you don't want to - just go in guns blazing.

Although sometimes they just seem to keep on coming forever, so then its best to avoid them. I skip most cut scenes, I don't think they are essential at all so far.

Resistance Fall of Man is excellent.

I also loved Condemned 2.

The MGS4 Multiplayer demo was terrible, everything moved way to slow.

I sold my PS3 a few weeks ago, i got sick of it gathering dust!

Was it a case of spending years perfecting the single player game then last minute slap on a multiplayer option?

MG Online appeared a while ago as a beta - so I'd have thought they'd have gotten a lot of feedback from that - not tried it myself yet though, the single player is too damn immersive to play anything else...

PS - I got my DS3 from ebay for £29 deleivered.

More like spending years perfecting the cut-scenes. Had a go on a mates machine, and not impressed with the gameplay. The stealth aspect doesn't seem anywhere near as good as the last splinter cell game imo...

Exactly the same as the standard one, except it's slightly heavier, the batteries run out quicker, and it rumbles a bit

Yes you can - but, annoyingly you can't for the arcade games (ie XBLA)
You have to suck it and see for those - Super Stardust HD is a must!

what films look best on Blu-ray?

For me ....

Kingdom of Heaven

Apocalypto

The Rock

Master and Commander (esp the sound track )

Rattatouille

Pirates of the Carribean (Dead mans Chest)

3.10 to Yuma

Black Hawk Down

No Country for Old men

I dont hesitate to double up on Blu Ray on films I already have on DVD, its not just the PQ but the HD sound I crave for

I've got Black Hawk Down and wouldn't say the PQ was anything startling - the soundtrack however, is...

The Spiderman trilogy is supposed to be excellent - Sony pushed the boat out with those by all accounts.

I have BHD on SD and Blu Ray and the difference is very noticeable , Its not one of my favourite films by a long way but the PQ and HD sound makes the difference IMO

Spiderman is one film I've not seen but I have read its supposed to be very good .

Day after Tomorrow is one film I bought after reading rave reviews about the PQ but I wasnt to impressed to be honest ..CGI far to obvious in to many scenes, a drawback from having to good a transfer I suppose .

I think my fave is Kingdom of Heaven though, apart from a weak performance from Orlando Bloom the whole film shines for me and worth watching over an over, The PQ is just about perfect IMO

It's worthwhile noting that some BR movies do not contain a Dolby Digital 5.1 Soundtrack as a backup. These are usually Fox titles that rely almost entirely on DTS-HD Master Audio. My amp recognised standard DTS, and DD5.1 but not the newer format, meaning it downmixes to Prologic!

Found this out with Master & Commander.. only has a DTS-HD soundtrack in English, and a DD5.1 in Spanish
