Default motherboard help...

I am going round in circles trying to find a reasonable - not the most expensive - motherboard for a quad core Q9450, 45nm, 1066 ddr2 ram with SATA II.

Any recommendations pls for something less than 150 quid ?

Anything P35 should be fine if the BIOS updates support your Q9450.

IP35 is well reviewed, I have Asus P5K-E Wi-Fi which I like - needed BIOS update to recognise my 45nm E8400 about 2 months ago, but the computer would boot without the update.

You may want to consider a board that will take DDR3, I chose not to. We are at the end of the line for the present socket 775, so you might not have many/any future CPU upgrade options.

After building this PC, I won't be worried about performance for 3 years lol

a q9450 and 8gigs of ram will probably run windows 7.

if not we're in trouble !

Abit GA-P35C-DS3R

Takes both DDR2 & DDR3 (not at the same time)
