Default Thinking of a Macbook (mac newbie!!) - PC differences??

I'm thinking of going to the dark side and buying an Apple Mac laptop. I confess to being totally clueless to Apple macs.

I don't own much software, and the laptop will be predominantly for word processing (work are sending me to uni ). I MAY use it for a bit of Photoshop Raw conversion, and potentially HD conversion from my Camcorder. These would only be a bonus, though.

Suppose what I'm asking is can someone point me to a site which compares PCs to Macs and what I can expect (never even seen a Mac).

Looking at the 1GB Macbook, but understand that you can't really compare specs cross platform. Fancy something a bit different, but can't really go over 700 quid.

Drop me an email at allan.bayman@macwarehouse.co.uk and I can get you some help on this. Lots of experience on both platforms so we can advise you on what you would want to know.
