Default PC TO TV

I want to use my TV as a monitor,how do i go about doing this,what type of cable do i need?

if the back of the tv have a vga port (15pin) then any VGA cable will be fine,

normally laptops have better choices. ie s-video to tv some have hdmi etc

No vga port but it does have a couple usb ports.

as above, most decent tv`s nowadays have a VGA pc input on the back, simply plug it in with your pc monitor lead

usb ports, are they not for serviceing the firmware etc etc?

Depends on the tv, i use a dvi-hdmi lead, works a treat.
