wii, chipped wii or PS3
Looking at getting one of the above in the next few days. already have a 360 but I am not sure on what to go for.
I like the idea of the wii for the gameplay etc, not seen to many games that jump out at me though on the ps3, but im thinking the cost for a games console with blu ray is a good selling point
any suggestions, pros cons etc
Cheers
James

Well I have Wii & PS3, and I prefer the PS3 mostly, but that said, Mario Kart on the Wii is superb, as was Resident Evil.
Also, the Wii is good entertainment for when people come round that. It has that 'anyone can play' factor that other consoles don't have. I couldn't imagine all 4 of the grandparents on my PS3, but they had a hoot on the Wii!
If you have kids, get the Wii, if it's just for you, get the PS3, IMO.

I currently have a 360 and a PS3. I used to have a Wii but sold it not long after I got it (didn't like it at all - no games and the gameplay was just too simplistic to hold my interest).
I don't really use the PS3 very much at all except for playing the occaisional blu-ray disc. The games and online services just aren't up to scratch yet imo.

cheers Ian, I dont mind the wii for the fun aspect, I dont think single play longetivity would be great but the joint aspect is a plus. Saying that though, I do like the Mario series of games
Thats why i am a bit skeptical about the ps3, what I have seen doesnt appeal to me as much as my 360 and the main reason in reality if I got one would be for the blue ray (it is decent value really when standalone blue ray arent much cheaper)

Currently own all 3 Concoles at the mo. Have a few games for the Wii, notibaly Mario Kart as well as some Game Cube Games for it as well, which I enjoy playing, such as the Rogue Squadron and Mario Kart Double Dash. The 360 is mostly used to chat and have fun with mates on-line, but the PS3 I have is currently gathering dust as the on-line gaming experience, the constant updates and the lack of on-line chat is a put off in my opinion.

The PS3 is good value as a blu-ray player, as not only is it well priced, but it can be upgraded easily with the latest blu-ray firmaware (something that's not possible with the standalone players).
Just a shame about the gaming side.
