Will be interested to see how it goes, I am kind of sceptical about it as these days you get so much preformance without resorting to liquid, I suppose the fact its quiet is part of the attraction.

Have you seen that where they submerge the whole mtherboard into a non-conductive liquid ?

I'm going for a cheap kit 'cos my heatsink and fan fell off my motherboard....
Poxy plastic moulding broke, frying my cpu, so now need a bolt-on cooler.

I have, nasa were one of the first, i believe normal mineral oil can also be used, just anything non conductive with cooling properties id imagine.

You do get a performance gain, just usually not big enough to interest most folk i can get 3.4ghz from my q6600 but can probably manage 3.6/3.7ghz by using water.

But the main reason is noise, my 3870x2 fan is rubbing on the fan casing and it's driving me loopy, and with the 4870x2 on the was no company in their mind will bother designing one.

That and i think having a water cooled pc is great, it's as far as you can go reliably, peltier and other methods bring condensation which can fry components.

Finished it all, im impressed, the 3870x2 is now running at 28 degrees where before it was at 70 on air.

The downside however is my psu got fried, the fesser one is meant to be non conductive and a small drop got inside, gutted but ive replaced it with a 1100w tagan bz psu which is quieter, smaller and imo better built than the enermax galaxy.

The noise lol what noise, all i get now is a faint whirring with the odd gurgle of water.
