Joysticks/Pad etc are useless for CS..
Only a mouse has the speed and response needed for a game like CS.

I have an MS commander which in theory would be excellent instead of the keybard, but I could not get use to it.

basically Keys and mouse is the best you can doo. Map you keys and mouse right and you will not find anything better.

I use keyboard and mouse as well. Occasionally I go mad and play with a graphics tablet . But I'm stopping that now since there are a few dents in the tablet where I pushed tooooo hard to fire

Try using a steering wheel or one of those combat fighting things where you kick poles.

May make you absolute rubbish but you would get quite fit

I tried a gamepad. Farrago ensued.

My mouse gets affected by my sweaty hand rubbing on the mouse mat and I need to clean it everyday. I realised this last night again when one on one I could not aim the crosshairs at the terrorist. Even though the mouse was moving, the crosshairs stayed stationary.

Well annoying, as anyone present will have noticed!

unplug your keyboard- u dont need it mate. get yourself a big jotstick with a sexy throttle lever on it, that will do u just fine.
