Default Documents and emails

This is a very long shot…. But I'm responsible for the design and production of the Newsletter and I've been asked to try and find someone that could possibly assist me in a question I have regarding getting the digital copy of my newsletter to appear in emails already opened….. i.e. not as an attachment that needs to be clicked?

HELP

If you don't want the newsletter to be an attachment, and that sounds as though that is what you are being asked, then you're probably looking at an HTML formatted email, as that would allow you complete control over what the content looks like, in essentially the same manner as a normal web page would.

If it's a one page newsletter, with a couple of pictures, that might not be too bad, but if we're talking 5+ A4 pages of text and pictures, then that would make for a very lengthy mail, not to say a possibly large filesize as well (mainly from the pictures), which would obviously impact people on slower internet connections when trying to retrieve the email.

Did you initially create the newsletter? If so, what did you use to get it into PDF format? It's possible that application might have an export option that allows you to export it as HTML. You probably will need to do a bit of tweaking to things though.

What's the specific reason behind not wanting to use an attachment? Would having a link to the newsletter hosted on a website be an acceptable alternative?

Thanks guys...

I originally created the doc in Word. It's 2 pages A4 text and a few pics.....

Then we would normally save it as a PDF via print as PDF.

But this would only attach to emails and people would just delete it without opening.

What I'm trying to do is make it come up open so they don't have a choice lol

How do i attach an html to a email?

Thanks guys!

Just something to bear in mind though, a lot of people block html email content (including myself) - you really need to give people a choice.
