Windows xp with vista sharing ?

Windows xp with vista sharing ?
evening all
I am on vista and my partner is with XP we where both with XP sharing folders/printer/scanner and all was ok working fine.
Just got this new computer with Vista on it and now all the sharing has stopped, no printer/folders/scanner etc, what has changed and what do we have to do? its bad when you have to email everything you want to print off to thexp computer just 2 feet a way lol
any advice please?

Yes I save that web sight, lots to read I was hoping someone knew a way that was simpler, also it has to be Windows Xp with vista with XP the main computer
