Samsung R60 ticking hard drive. Is it a problem.
I recently bought a Samsung R60 from Tescodirect. Nice laptop except when i access the hard drive there is a very defined ticking noise. Its not too loud but is it a problem. The laptop works fine otherwise.

I had a dell that did it... ran all the drive diagnostics and it came back fine. Luckily i'd got it for someone else

Yeah the ticking normally defines either a cheap hard drive or one on the way out !
It could be a low power issue as the drive powers up and then down again but on a Lappy its not something you can fix... easily.. I would back up all the info you want to keep !!
Oh and Vista wont make it tick lol
