IE5 was

To change the title bar branding of IE5 go to the registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main either delete Window Title in the right pane, or edit the text string to read as you would prefer. Restart IE.

To return the animated icon to Microsoft's default spinning globe go to the registry entry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar edit both BrandBitmap and SmBrandBitmap from their existing entries, and substitute the string 'Default' (or leaving it blank seems to work too). You could change it to other images (one for the small and large icon options) but make sure the image is small enough, the menu bar line will expand to fit the specified image. Restart IE.

Don't know if this is the same on 6. Registry editing at your own risk

Had me worried there. Hadn't done it since early days of IE5 and don't remember having to reboot, but hey if it works.
