My copy arrived this morning, so will give it a go later. Busy weekend though, so not sure I'll have a chance (certainly not on Saturday anyway). Maybe on Sunday?

Bought this on day of launch placed CD in drive waited 10 minutes to install then connected to playstation network waited another 15 minutes for update to install! Why do you have to wait for this Xbox 360 games dont do it Forza didnt require a lengthy install?
My grip about this game is the car physics havent moved on since GT3 it handles exactly the same! Only thing that has changed is graphics and sound.
To me Forza is way out in front now with much better car physics and computer AI plus it has damage!
Does anyone notice the bad framerate this game not run smooth you would think they wouldve sorted that out by now how long has this game been in development!
Total let down hope GT5 fixes all these issues or its going to fall flat on its behind!

Yeah think so! I have a 360 and PS3 and I really wanted prologue to be good but it just clearly isnt after playing it for a couple of hours I saw past the glossy graphics and realised it's brought nothing new to the table at all!
Same car physics, no computer AI, no damage.
Will be going back to Forza2/PGR4 I think!

You need to turn off all the aids and go to pro mode if you want to experience the new physics. It's not the same as the old one. It's a shame the 'default' settings dumb the handling down so much as its all many people will experience.

Exactly what Ed said above go to pro mode handling, completly different kettle of fish. The only gripe I have is that you cannot choose who you race with online. So you get to race with all the idiots who believe it is bumper cars.

Who here has driven the 1 lap race in B mode and using the Integra Type R ?. Them who have done the race will know how difficult it is with the professional physics on and the stability control off.

yes I agree it is much better with all assists off in pro mode with manual! I am started to like it now not afraid to say I made a rash judgement the other day!
Online is still a bit patchy but I am sure they will update it and improve over time! Dont like the cars going invisible its annoying seeing cars flashing all over the place lol.

I'm not suprised the game installs to the HDD, its gne through so many iterations so far with new features being added etc that things would be right mess otherwise - this "spec II" that we have is the 8th incarnation of Prologue since october, with more updates to come.
Once the final feature set is complete for the full game it should run from the disc only...

The answer is nothing, thats speaking as a gamer and not a fanboy.
I get the impression from you that if forza 2 was a ps title and gt5 a 360 your opinion would be somewhat different.

Having played both quite a bit now, I think Forza 2 has a lot more depth, vastly superior online racing (at least from what I've experienced so far), and it doesn't have bumper car physics.
Graphically Forza is not as good as GT5, but that is the only area I can think of where it is inferior.
I bought GT5, and a cheap 2nd hand copy of F1 on the PS3 the other day. The F1 game is getting a lot more attention as I'm pretty much fed up with GT5 already.

Spent a bit of time with gt5p over the weekend and there are areas where its brilliant, and others where its naff, but if we all exchange the word "prologue" and insert "beta" instead it probably gives a good reason why.
16 players in single player mode is fantastic, although I'm not that keen on the rolling starts... 12 players online is great too, but its dodgems at the moment, and the system that identifies who's at fault for accidents and penalises them with an 8 sec "no power" penalty doesnt work too well. I've played about 20 games online and been dropped once, lag has been noticable but usually only when a competitor has lost control.
I think the AI has also improved over the last game, I've only noticed 1 instance where an opponent has ran into the back of me so far...
The time trials in the events seem much tougher, and I think the game is penalising anyone using the pad and automatic gears. I've noticed using the d-pad that the constant tap tap tap you need to do on bends like those on high speed ring send the car a bit "wobbly" and in the nissan GT-R its enough to get the back end out at 180mph... I'm liking those events that require you to overtake 15 cars in 1 lap, a lot of fun.
Presentation wise its the doggies danglies, nothing looks anywhere near as good, the intro movie might be a minor point but I think it looks great and sets the tone - as did PGR4 with its Prodigy soundtrack, Turn 10 didnt even bother for Forza 2, the opening vid would lead you to beleive you were playing "the real parking simulator"...
C Class racing is a little pedestrian, but A class is much more challenging and I'm looking forward to getting S class unlocked, Arcade mode has the option for 99 laps which should really make home-made online enduro events interesting (if thats your bag that is...)
I think its a great insight into what the full game will be like, I just hope they listen to comments and fix prologues weak points.
