Default Webcams - any advice ??

Webcams - is there actually much real world difference between say one ast £40 and one at say a tenner ?? appreciatte that the better ones can work better at low light levels but just wonder for normal day to day use if its actualy worth spending that bit more ??

the programme that I have seen that I would want to run my webcam chat with is known as Eyeball chat, anyone else use this particular software ?? given the fact that the actual viewing screen off thses webcam chat programmes is relativly small just wonder if again it makes much difference in the quality off cam used ??

would be great if I could find a programme that would give an audible alert tothe other pc / webcam user that I wanted to chat with them, anyone know off such a chat software ??

No idea on the software you mention but yes there are differences between webcams. You'll find the better ones are a much higher definition as well as being smarter about the lighting.

Logitech quick cam pro is the best i have used.

Anyone recommend a nice easy to use software / site that I can use for communicating with my mate nad his webcam, nothing fancy required just a neat site programme that will allow to two off us to chat via webcam ??

is this type off programme normally included in with a webcam when purchased or do you have to go thru an actual website, bit confused if someone could explain ??

cheers
