Nintendo's Wii or Playstation 3 from States ???

Im off to the states in a few weeks and was wondering will the Nintendo's Wii and PS3 console work at home and are the games etc compatible ?

If you buy a Wii you will only be able to play USA games on it ! Its a good thing if your dowloading them but if your buying them I think it will be a bit of a pain.

two totally different gaming systems , i have both and would recommend the PS3

All PS3 games are region free so no problems there - I also think that the power supply doesnt need tinkered with as it has a step down converter on board.
