Recently borrowed a PS2 with only one game which happens to be Gran Tourismo 3 and have been spending far too much time playing the damn thing.

I've definitely been driving the Scoob (euro DBM MY99, unichip, decat etc) far harder since I've been playing, braking later, getting sidewise more often, flooring it from lights and even (flamesuit on) nipping up the inside if people are hogging the outside lanes.

And this is mainly in Amsterdam....

Was aware that I'd been 'giving it' a little more, but only just realised the likely reason!!

Before the self-righteous brigade pile in - IT'S FRIDAY AFTERNOON!!

Anyone else suffer from GT3-itis? Are there any cures?

Get Burnout - Burnoutitis is a much shorter illness

(Mainly cos you invariable have a head on with a bus at the first corner)

Yep, Me too, Get way too close to Audi TT's and realise im not in a Nismo GTR, just my aged Pug 309.

I can tell its not real, heres a few ways to tell the difference

If it were I would have to justify every mod with a virtual wife.

My tyres last more than 2 laps

GT3 wont let you have and overdraft

Petrol is free !!

No damage when you crash

No kid seats, puke, toys, dog hair, parking tickets

You buy new wheels and nobody nicks them

No Laguna's with fog lights on

The BMW coupe doesnt have a shirt and tie hanging up in the back window

The Citroen Saxo doesnt have Drum n' Bass pumping out

Shame they don't have motorbikes on GT3 to race against.

That would be fun (see them go sloooooow round the bends)...

Perhaps they could add a smoker's option to allow for disposal of ciggie butts out of the window down the straights..

(switches on personal forcefield....)

I remember a friend telling me that when he first started playing GT1 he would go into a corner too fast and use the other cars to bounce off so he made it round the corner. Anyway he was driving rather briskley down a real road and came to a corner. In front of him was another car. For a split second he thought about bouncing of the other car to get round the corner. I think he nearly shat him self when he realised what he was thinking.

And anyway it would only work if you drove a Volvo.

It's got me.

I use the Nismo Pennzoil GT-R, tuned to 940Bhp & set up well so it corners and handles. Can sometimes beat the F1 car with it.

It certainly rubs off on how you drive your real car though. I've been a lot more aggresive since. It does however give you a sense of feel though, as you know you can't just dive into a corner and get round. It takes a bit of finesse, steering and throttle control.

I try not to drive directly after playing.

Regards
Kurt

thought "That wouldnt have happened in GT3"

as you slide into the ditch, tractor, Large Articulaed vehicle with a teddy on the front !

Anyway, the Bikes go so Sloooww round corners

and then destroy you on the straights, P1, 22B, STI a CBR600 will dust the lot, great until you get splattered
