The Memory and HDD should be good still, have a look at an AMD Athlon XP motherboard and CPU.

This should improve performace during the game play.

Cool

i paid £150 for an athalon xp1700+, 95 for a m/b for it. (incl VAT)

your ram should be ok in the new m/b.

and u could get a lesser chip than a 1700 and prob a cheaper motherboard to ?

Be aware that some of the newer Athlon boards use DDR RAM rather than PC133 SDRAM, so choose the mobo with caution.

Thumbs up

Just bought an Athlon bundle from aria.co.uk 1333mhz (266fsb), ECS K7s5a Mb, Globalwin FOP32-1 H/S + FAN with 256MB DDR for.....

£190 all in

And it all works well.... the MB is a Sis735 chipset and will run ALL the current XP chips....

This board will also run the PC133 RAM if you wanted (not at the same time as the DDR stuff tho)... remember he'll need a good 300W PS if he's going athlon route.....

www.dabs.com or www.scan.com

This is the two places I buy PC parts from...

ebyer screwed with me once to many times by being late or parts that broke way too soon (like DIMMS). Dabs is the best choice for me because somehow, my parts always arrive the next day...
