I would like to watch tv shows and films whilst on the train commuting every day. Can anyone please recommend:

1. what portable player?
2. where do download these tv shows and films?

I am a complete novce at this, I don't want to use apple as they seem quite restrictive. Any ideas?

The iPod touch is quite good, albeit expensive. To download TV shows I would recommend TvTorrents.COM - and Home - UKNova .

wow... er.. to be honest you need to join a Newsgroup to download without any ratio or fake issues... that costs.. and to be fair isn't really easy to learn.

Torrents are ok, but again you need someone to basically talk you through everything. Then theres the issue of Codec and types of video files vs player you decide to buy !!
