Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Motorstorm
etc, etc, ....

HDMI cable - whatever length you need. Just make sure its PS3 compatible

Yes it does as spectrum said and also plays blue-ray dvds too. The best way to find all the top games and new releases, is to buy a playstation 3 magazine like PSW, PSM3 etc. They usually print on the front which console and games they talk about. Some are expensive though costing a fiver or more ( that is usually written on too ).

cheers folks.

Bought one yesterday (from Woolworths). £349.99 inc 2 games - went for ratchet and cranket (or something - not played it yet - for the kids) and Blaes Treasure (Tomb Raider style - pretty good so far).

DVD's look good on the projector using the upscaling - not tried a blue ray disc yet.

The desktops dead basic compared to the 360, really thought Sony would have attempted to better this.

Roll on GT5

If you want Neil setup the online side of your PS3 and you can download themes from the PlaystationStore. After download you can change the theme of your desktop to for example Motorstorm.

Yeah you can do that on the 360 too, but why should you need to

I would sooner keep it basic so it doesn't breakdown Bob.

Theres been no end of buy a ps3 because it's great thread on here, and when they do it's like well it's not as good as the 360, so the 360 has issues, MS have given a free 3 year warrenty to everybody, something that ps3 owners have probably been talked in to buying from some commission based dixons employee

Both Xbox360 and PS3 are great systems.

I'd probably have bought an Xbox360 if it hadn't been for the honest bunch on here who've published how many had failed on them (one person has had 8).

So, very happy with my PS3 - just need more games, but plenty to look forward to this year

I was reading some posts on here, some people had there 360's replaced at least 5 times in 6 months and i hav'nt replaced mine once and it's 2nd hand ( i've owned it for 6 months ). Commision is inevitable and they know the Ps3 will go out the door quicker because people already know the repair count of the Ps3 is alot lower.

Also the 3 year warrenty is irrelevent anyway when you rarely get to use it. The elite has had a problem too with overheating or something.

Both 360 and PS3 are fantastic machines and you can't go wrong no matter which one you buy.

There is no such thing as 'better' when you're talking about personal preference.

I've got both.

I'm on my 9th 360, so they are not the most reliable thing around. Even the new Elite consoles go wrong.

I also have a PS3, which so far has been quieter and a lot more reliable.

I'm finding that I'm still using the 360 a lot more than the PS3, simply because the games are better. I've not seen anything on the PS3 which is any better graphically either. I'm hoping this will change later this year otherwise the PS3 will be traded for something else...

As for upscaling, note that the PS3 will only do it over an HDMI cable. If you are using a component output, (going to 1080i for example), then the PS3 will not upscale dvds at all (despite the fact that it can output games at the resolution ok).

Got both myself

Only on my third 360 though so got some way to go yet.

I slightly favour PS3 (60 - 40 split in terms of gaming time I would say). I expect that to change this week though as I'm going to start playing Bioshock.

I also have both - and I would say it's split about 50/50 - But this is mainly due to me buying all multiplatform titles on PS3 and leaving exclusives for 360.

Bioshock was great!

Admittedly I don't get through a lot of games, but having finished Uncharted, Bioshock and COD4, I'm struggling for something new on PS3. That's why I've chosen Portal (PC) instead.

I'm doing it the other way around.

Got loads of friends on the 360 (plus all the rest of my family / relations have one) so online on the 360 is much more enjoyable than on the PS3. Plus I much prefer the 360 controller

My split is currently around 80/20 in favour of the 360...

Another vote for Bioshock here. One of the best games of last year imo

I think the 360 controller is better, but I am gettign used to the sixaxis - the amalog sticks are definitel ymore responsive that the woeful DS2's.

It purely a question of relaiblity - If and when my 360 goes again, I don;t want to be left with most of my game colleciton sitting collecting dust.

I really enjoyed it - But, it really tailed off quite sharply - The first half was just stunning, but the whole setting was never really exploited to its full potential after the first few levels.

Don't get me wrong, for atmoshere it was fantastic - It just got too samey.

7.) Mass Effect

But.....how? I mean it was pretty good. But man oh man it was boring in places. And the identikit side missions were an absolute grind. The main story mission were good though.

You can level that comment at practically any game produced these days though. The reason why most of them don't suffer the same feeling is that they only stick 4 or 5 hours of gameplay in there (Bioshock was considerably longer than most games of the genre).
