Default telephone exchange for small office

I am looking for recommendations for a telephone exchange system for a small office.

We need 4 handsets, on a system expandable to 8 or 16. We have 3 incoming lines, on one BT number

We would like the following features:

1) dial from desk to desk
2) incoming calls ring to group
3) ability to transfer recieved calls
4) voicemail would be good
5) transfer to a mobile would be good

We have cat5 to all desks where we need a handset - cordless handset would be good for one location.

Any ideas?

Gareth

Hmmm, no Not my area sorry Will watch with interest though.

Only suggestion I have is to call BT and speak to someone from the business side. These folks are actually normally pretty good. They should be able to give you some suggestions since you have a very clear idea on what you want. You can then read up on those suggestions and decide if you want to take the plunge.

Are those incoming lines analogue (PSTN) or ISDN?

we've just had a new samsung system put in - quality bit of kit.

out config was

rack mount cabinet

16 DDI Module
16 DDI Module
combo Module (8 analogue, 8 DDI)
Voicemail

looks like this

Bt offer a featureline service, which is OK, but gets expensive for >4 users.

oh, and i've got the phone switch on the LAN, so i can configure, change settings through a web browser if needs be.

IP PBX - 3CX PBX, PABX software for Windows

Free SIP based PBX software for windows, uses IP so either proper SIP capable handsets or soft phones, all using cat5

Looks quite good, we have tried it in the office with PDA's and wireless

Other than that we use 3com phone systems

Using a Siemens Hicom 300 here, recommended, only have 12 employees not the cheapest bit of kit either but we are a siemens partner anyway so made sense for us to go down that route.

Wouldnt bother with Featurenet or BT. ridiculous for a company your size
