OK, So my girlfriend is off to Japan at the end of February and the thought of X-Box has just occured to me.
Is it worth me getting her to cart one back for me?
What are the issues?
How do you overcome the 110v power supply?
If I buy UK games what needs to be done if anything to play them?
Any good sites with good info on the console and the games available?
How much are they over here?
Can you buy UK X-Boxes or are they all Jap or US imports?
If UK ones are available, where is the cheapest to buy?
Sorry, daft questions probably but until now not really paid attention to it.
Cheers,
RichB

X-Box is released on 14th March in the UK at £299 (Dixons price anyway). In Japan the price is £199 - why is the UK so bloody expensive ?????????????

Have had the good fortune to play on mates x-box whilst over here in the USA. Must say that Halo looks and plays great, we did play some racing game, which seemed very much like the DC game, umm Metropolis Street Racer? looked great, as good as GT3? hmm, nearly.
As for answers to the questions.
voltage, well you can get adapters to allow USA stuff plug into UK outlets, can get them from Maplins, think about 10 - 20 quid each, might do similar ones for japan.
as for games, well, it'll be region 1 (is that right?) thus UK games will probably NOT play, so you're looking at chipping it to play UK games/dvds (does it do dvd?) and as far as I know there are no modchips for x-box, yet!
to be honest, it might be better to get a uk one after they come out, maybe summer time, as the price might be a little lower.
must say that I was impressed with x-box, more so than I thought i would. looks like MS wants to dominate the console market as well as the desktop market!
do agree that there are very few good games for it at the moment.
as for info on it and games, check out http://www.xbox.com/
