Not sure if it's the same on PC and Mac but just select the playlist then, File, Export.

do you have to do them one at a time or is there a way to do the lot together?

Is it me, or am i doing something wrong, or is it a failing of itunes?

i create a playlist, and it sits on the left pane

All my songs (the whole library is on the right pane)

i create another play list et al....

now it shows my play lists, but not whats in them..

whats the point of making a play list if you cant see what tracks are in the sodding thing

or am i (probably) doing something wrong?

if you are in the main library (above the playlists), its shows all your music

if you then click on each individual playlist, to the right it should show you your chosen tracks in that list.

is that not what you are getting ??

Unfortunately you do have to export them one at a time, which is a serious pain in the ****. On a Mac you could possibly automate this with Automator, and certainly with Applescript. Not sure what you'd do on a PC though.

You on a PC or a Mac? If it's a Mac then have a look here and see if there is an export playlist script. If not then I might be able to knock something up. It looks like an exported playlist as text can be imported ok (export as text is easy in applescript, writing an XML file is a real pain).

A while ago I did write a script to read an XML playlist file and import it, so it may be simple to create a script that will export as XML.
i'm on a pc (vista)
