Default Speed increase now no P2P

On Monday tiscali increased my broadband speed from 512 to up to 8mb but actually getting just under 1mb. The problem Ive got is since the increase I cannot connect to any bit torrent servers i keep getting "connection disconnected by peer" or "connection timed out" Ive reinstalled Azures and also tried Bit torrent 6 installed latest modem drivers turned off firewall (even though the port is OK) still nothing any body got any ideas?

cheers manners.

1) They could be blocking the ports, as you are now on a new package with new terms and conditions. I've been offered a free "upgrade", its 8 times faster but offers 1/5 of the capacity...no thanks
2) Because its a new product, it is likely they have reset your IP address. Some torrent software likes you to input your external IP address in order for you to obtain good connections. Go to WhatIsMyIP.com in order to check this if necessary.
3) When you rebooted your router you somehow changed your internal IP address therefore breaking any port forwarding rules for P2P you had been using.

Fixing the first one can be really hard depending on how determined your ISP is in blocking your P2P connections. I don't have experience doing this as I am with a decent ISP , although they charge lots

Have you tried Utorrent? Allows you to pick a torrent port or have a random port and also has a stealth mode which some ISPs may not pick up on.

if your in the first 3-5 days of the connection/ upgrade, the speeds will vary, as the line is tested to find the best stable speed,

dont be fobbed off though, if your speed is still sh*te in a ccouple of days time get it resolved pronto, otherwise you go beyond the 14 day cancellation period..

Tiscali block ports even though they say they dont - I had nothing but problems from them useually between 6pm and 11pm after that it was fine but it also effected online gaming such as BF2142 as it couldnt connect to there master server until after 11pm - in the end I lost it and left - they chased me for my remaining 2 months payments for 4 months then finally threatening me with court action I apealed saying I couldnt use there service and I won my case with the debt people just before it went to court

Im now on bethere who dont block ports and my internet service is great

My advise is get out ASAP there cack
