it would appear the router is blocking this site?
ive managed to get the router to talk to the lappy wirelessly, and reset all the bits and bobs...
for some reason it wont talk via the ethernet cable...
need to look at that next....
need to see if there,s a firmware update too

IP addy was in the second link I posted above.
Just to be clear, are these statements correct...
You can connect to the admin pages via wireless but not wired?
Wired and wireless let you use the internet except the belkin site?

Firstly, I don't see that model listed on the Belkin site, I do see this one though: F5D7633uk4A
The description is: ADSL2+ Modem with High-Speed Mode Wireless-G Router.
Can you confirm that is correct?
If it is then there is an "F5D7633 - Pre-Release Firmware 1.00.24" file available on their site. Here's the details about it:
F5D7633 - Pre-Release Firmware 1.00.24
Summary
This is firmware version 1.00.24 for the F5D7633 ADSL Modem-Router. This firmware is not yet tested and approved by Belkin QA. It is offered for download because it fixes a number of problems that have been reported. If you download and update the firmware, you do so on your own risk.
The most important changes since the previous releases are:
General improvements to functionaliy and stability
A fix for MTU problems that could lead to certain websites being unavailable on PPPoE and PPPoA connections
A fix for a problem that prevented the Nortel Contivity VPN client from connecting
The option for a 1483 Bridged connection with a static IP address as used by some Swedish ISPs
A fix for problems with some VoIP applications that use the SIP protocol
Support for WMM Quality of Service
The option to specify a custom port number for Remote Management
Improvements to the Client IP filters
Improvements to the Security log
This version of the firmware is for the Annex-A hardware only, for ADSL over an analogue line in the UK, France and most of the rest of Western Europe. It cannot be used with Annex-B hardware for ADSL over ISDN, as used in Germany, Norway and on ISDN connections in The Netherlands, Belgium and some Eastern European countries.
The point made by mike about it possibly being an MTU problem is interesting as the above info does make reference to a fix for MTU problems that could least to some sites being unavailable over PPPoE and PPPoA connections and I'm going to take a stab here that you're probably connecting to your ISP using one of those.
Before you apply that update, have a read of the following (I copied it from the Belkin site for you)
Why am I unable to access secure websites or use Live Messenger through my F5D7633uk4A Ver 1144?
Question
Why am I unable to access secure websites or use Live Messenger through my F5D7633uk4A Ver 1144?
Answer
The original firmware supplied with this version of the router has an issue relating to the MTU setting on the router. The problem causes the router to fail to use the MTU setting applied in the router interface menu. This could cause the above problems.
An updated firmware to resolve this issue is being worked on, until this is available follow the workaround below.
1. Download a program called DR TCP from.
DrTCP windows tcp tuning and tweaking - dslreports.com
2. Run this program on each computer on the network, once the program is open make sure your network connection to the router is selected underneath where it says "Adapter Settings".
3. In the "MTU" box on the right hand side type in 1400 and click "Save", exit the program and reboot the computer.
Once you have repeated these steps on each computer you should be able to access secure sites and log into Live Messenger. Check Belkin: United Kingdom for updated firmware releases.
That could possibly be why you have problems. I'd try that option before going the firmware upgrade route to be honest.

I've downloaded the aforementioned (1.00.24) pre-release firmware, so I can email it to you (PM me your email address). However, what firmware is the router currently running? It should be listed on the main router home page, it's the Runtime Code Version or Firmware Version item under the Version Info heading
If it's 1.00.11 or earlier you'll get an error if you try to upgrade directly to 1.00.24, you need to go to 1.00.17 first (I've got a copy of that file too if you need it) and then apply the 1.00.24 firmware.

Just to clarify, what firmware is the router currently running? If it's 1.00.17 then I'm pretty sure you must then upgrade it to the 1.00.24 version. The 1.00.17 firmware only exists to allow an upgrade to 1.00.24 when your firmware isn't 1.00.11, so it may not be fully functional (the 1.00.17 version).
